If you get an error when trying to create your video on the iPhone app, in most cases it is related to fetching your footage from iCloud.
This could be just a temporary technical issue communicating with Apple's iCloud Photo Library service, yet this could also mean that your iPhone deleted the full size version of the footage once it was uploaded to iCloud to optimize your device's storage (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204264).
You can verify that on your device's settings:
- Go to Settings
- Tap on your name
- Tap on iCloud
- Tap on Photos
- If the iCloud Photos option is on, it means that your photos and videos are automatically stored on iCloud
- Check whether the Optimize iPhone Storage option is checked
If that is indeed the case, you may follow one of the below options to work around it:
- Download the footage you'd like to use in your Magisto video from iCloud, so you have the full version copy of it locally on your device (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209454).
You can also choose the "Download and Keep Originals" option on your Photos settings to prevent this from happening in the future. Just note that this option requires available storage on the device. - Download the original footage from iCloud onto a regular desktop computer and create a movie using our website.
In case it doesn't solve the problem, please contact our Support team using the dedicated form on your app (Tap on the Profile icon on your main page > tap on the gear icon > choose Contact Support) for further assistance.
Sharing the name of the video and relevant screenshots would be very helpful for troubleshooting.
