Want to add more footage? Did you forget to add an important photo or video clip, or just found out that you didn't need a piece of footage already uploaded? While your video is in draft mode, you can easily add or remove footage from your story. Professional and Business subscribers can add footage from our extensive collection of stock footage as well!
- From the “My Videos” tab at the top your screen, find and click the draft you’d like to edit.
- Click the “Edit” button to open your story.
- To add footage: Click on “” at the top left hand side and then on “Media” in the drop down menu.
You can add media using the following methods:
1. Uploading media from your computer
- Click on “Upload” at the top right hand side to open your computer's file manager.
- Locate and select the files you would like to upload to your computer and confirm.
- Repeat the process as is (if necessary) until all desired media have been uploaded.
2. Selecting media from your Recent uploads
(For Premium, Professional and Business subscribers)
- Uploads is your personal media library, and includes all your previously used photos and videos.
- Click on “Recent uploads” to open the library. You can also filter your search by type of media and video orientation.
- Locate and select the footage you wish to use in your new video.
- Click on “Add” to go back to your story.
- Repeat the process as is or use other sources until all desired footage has been selected.
3. Selecting media from our stock library
(For Professional and Business subscribers)
- To access our stock media database click on “Stock”.
- Select between “Videos” or “Photos” to the right of the Search box. Our stock library offers more than 3 million video clips and over 25 million photos!
- Enter any term into the Search box to easily filter through the stock library. You can also scroll down and search by popular video categories.
- Hover over the video to preview it. You can also hover over the video and click on the enlarge icon to view it in full resolution.
- Similar to videos, hover over the photo and click on the enlarge icon to view your photo in full resolution.
- If you would like to include a result in your video, click “add” and it will automatically be uploaded.
4. Uploading media from Google Photos
- Click on “Connect to Google Photos” to access your Google Photos library.
- Log into your Google Photos account and grant the required permissions to allow Magisto to access your footage.
- Once access has been granted, you should be able to see the photos and videos stored in your Google Photos account.
- Click on the footage you would like to add and click on “Add”.
- You can also click on the “X” to exit the window to go back to your story.
*Note*
- Magisto supports all formats that are “natively” supported by iOS, Android and Windows OS:
- Photo file types: JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PNG
- Video file types: 3GP, AVI, MOV, MP4, MPG, MTS, M2TS
- For files uploaded to Google Photos, there is a 'delay' time which if the clip has not been fully processed and is used will result in a lower quality image. Google Photos will require some time to fully process uploaded videos. Longer videos will take more time to completely process and analyze.
There are 2 ways to remove footage from your video:
1. "Delete" feature
- Hover over the photo or video clip you would like to delete in your story at the bottom of the page.
- Click on the 3 dots at the top right hand side of the image or video clip.
- Click on “Delete” in the dropdown menu.
2. "Hide" feature
- Hover over the photo or video clip you would like to delete in your story at the bottom of the page.
- Click on the 3 dots at the top right hand side of the image or video clip.
- Click on “Hide” in the dropdown menu.
- You can choose to reincorporate the footage by repeating the first 2 steps and clicking on “Show”.
- The hidden image will not be included in your final video.
