When you're first creating your video, you will be asked to select the photos and videos you want to include. When selecting your footage you'll want to take the orientation into consideration. Magisto automatically sets your video's orientation based on the majority of your photos and video clips (51% of your footage). A landscape video will be created if 51% of your selected raw footage is landscape.

You can upload and include media using the following methods:

1. Uploading media from your computer

1. Click on “Add Media”.
2. A new window will appear, click on “Upload” at the top right hand side to open your computer's file manager.
3. Locate and select the files you would like to upload to your computer and confirm.
4. Repeat the process as is (if necessary) until all desired media has been uploaded.
5. Once finished selecting all footage, click on “Next” at the top right hand side.

2. Selecting media from your Recent uploads 

1. Recent uploads is your personal media library, and includes all your previously used photos and videos.
2. Click on “Recent uploads” to open the library.
3. Locate and select the footage you wish to use in your new video.
4. Click on “Add” to go back to your story.
5. Repeat the process as is or use other sources until all desired footage has been selected.
6. Once finished selecting all footage, click on “Next” to choose a style.

3. Selecting media from our stock library 

(For Professional and Business subscribers)

1. To access our stock media database click on “Stock”.
2. Select between “Videos” or “Photos” to the right of the Search box. Our stock library offers more than 3 million video clips and over 25 million photos!
3. Enter any term into the Search box to easily filter through the stock library.
4. Hover over the video to preview it. You can also hover over the video and click on the enlarge icon to view it in full resolution.
5. Similar to videos, hover over the photo and click on the enlarge icon to view your photo in full resolution.
6. Click on “Add” to include all selected footage.
7. Once finished selecting all footage, click on “Next” to choose a style.

*Note*

• The watermark displayed in the preview will not appear in your final video.
• Stock items can only be used for video creation on the Magisto platform.

4. Uploading media from Google Photos

1. Click on “Connect to Google Photos” to access your Google Photos library.
2. Log into your Google Photos account and grant the required permissions to allow Magisto to access your files.
3. Once access has been granted, you should be able to see the photos and videos stored in your Google Photos account.
4. Click on the footage you would like to add and click on “Add”.
5. You can also click on the “X” button to exit the window to go back to the storyboard.
6. Once finished selecting all footage, click on “Next” to choose a style.

* For files uploaded to Google Photos, there is a 'delay' time which if the clip has not been fully processed and is used will result in a lower quality image. Google Photos will require some time to fully process uploaded videos. Longer videos will take more time to completely process and analyze.

Magisto supports all formats that are “natively” supported by iOS, Android and Windows OS:

• Photo file types: JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PNG
• Video file types: 3GP, AVI, MOV, MP4, MPG, MTS, M2TS

Before you move onto the next step, you'll want to reorder your footage, add text, add your Business details and logo, choose a font,  select your brand colors, your video's ratio and video duration.
